“I find a great deal of joy in not knowing what the outcome of my work will be and great value in allowing it to unfold in its own way, in its own time”

Sarah El Sawi is an artist, mother and nature-lover. Curious and experimental, she is drawn to several areas of study, but artistic expression remains a constant life passion. She has been living and working in El Gouna, Red Sea for the past 7 years where she curated several art shows and founded “Women By The Sea Art Festival”.

“I’m a lover of the creative process in all its forms. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t involved in the arts, be it visual, music, theatre, writing. Art is the way I make sense of the world around me and this state of being human. Its my playground so I’m constantly experimenting with different media and observing how forms arise from an empty surface, an old pack of magazines or how an old sketch can experience a rebirth years later. I find a great deal of joy in not knowing what the outcome of my work will be and great value in allowing it to unfold in its own way, in its own time- be it over several years or a few hours.”
